Annual Health Fair is coming to Sunnylands!

by | Mar 15, 2022

Sunnylands and Woodburn Community Development Group, in association with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, are hosting their Annual Health Fair on Saturday 19 March from 10am – 12 noon at Sunnylands Community Centre.

Funded by Areas at Risk, through the Department for Communities, this event aims to educate people so that they can make positive choices around their own health and wellbeing by engaging in complementary therapies, arts and crafts, massage, health screenings, relaxation sessions and informative workshops.

Mayor Councillor William McCaughey said: “Everyone is welcome to come along and find out more about what health services are available on your doorstep, to help you and your family. A number of local organisations will be present, offering lots of interaction, engagement and education as required.

“Those represented include Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke providing blood pressure checks, Nurturing Nights with baby massage, Christians Against Poverty, Strat 360, and Links Counselling. Phils Farm will also be there with a marquee and selection of animals and much more. Music will be provided by Catherine Hamilton, harpist.”

Chairperson of Sunnylands and Woodburn Development Group Michael Clarke said “We are really looking forward to our Health Fair which will be bigger and better this year. After the Covid 19 pandemic, we all know how important it is to take care of our own health and wellness. So, come along and find out what local support you can receive for you and your family all free of charge. We have over 20 organisations represented and we are looking forward to a great day.”
